Friday I decided to try out another one of of my Heritage Distilling Vodka’s and once again, I was not disappointed.
This time I went for the Ruby Red flavor the amazing team at Heritage Distilling sent me. Being that I was in lock down for the Pope visit to Philadelphia, I was unable to get to a grocer nearby – so I had to work with what I had in the kitchen. I opened the fridge, and staring back at me was a bottle of Lemonade, Seltzer Water, Fresh Herbs and some Raspberry Juice – perfect, that was all I needed. I was feeling inspired by one of the coolest rooftop bars in NYC, the Loopy Doopy Bar. At the Loopy Doopy, they have a signature drink which is a glass of bubbly adorned with a popsicle. Unfortunately I didn’t have a popsicle mold handy, so I went with the next best thing I could think of. I emptied out the ice tray we have in our freezer, poured in the lemonade and raspberry juices, threw in some fresh Rosemary and Sage and let it sit till frozen. An hour later, out came the cutest pink and yellow ice cubes I have ever seen.
Since it was Friday night, I added 2 Shots of my Ruby Red Vodka, a splash of seltzer along with another splash of lemonade then threw in the cute ice cubes I made – voila, instantly the most refreshing drink I have ever had. After taking a few sips I started wondering why I hadn’t been more creative with ice cubes before, but will definitely be making up for lost time now.
