For as creative as I like to think I am, I have never really gotten into the whole making an elaborate costume thing some people get into each year for Halloween. Maybe its because I have a hard time spending money on something I will only wear once, but then again I do that weekly when I binge shop at Forever 21. For me, I like to challenge myself to see what in my closet I can spruce up and make work for a costume. This years pick was a yellow flower dress I ordered over the summer from Shein.com. Flowy, bright, floral – perfect combination to make a killer hippie costume. I threw on a big geo stone necklace – similar style here, some lace up booties and a flower crown. For a great flower tutorial check out Lauren Conrads how-to guide – they are so cute! Definitely keeping mine for future festivals and outdoor parties.
Also a BIG thank you to Amika for their amazing hair products which not only helped to give me the perfect 70’s wave, but made my hair smell incredible. { plus the bottles kind of matched my outfit } For my 70’s beachy waves I used :
Amika Dry Shampoo and Conditioner – perfect for refreshing and revising your locks after a long day or just if they need a little loving.
Amika Un-Done Texture Spray – I like using this before, while and after I curl my hair. It helps hold a curl, while giving you a messy beach wave all us ladies are trying to achieve.
Amika Hair Spray – the glue that holds it all together, I love using this hair spray because its firm but doesnt make my hair feel stiff.
Such a cute costume!
