This up and down weather pattern has seriously messed up my skin. I am now more than ever amping up my daily beauty routine to try and counteract mother natures wrath. Ok, that all being said it is time for my weekly beauty obsessions. This week both brands come from the great state of New York.
The first brand I am loving all over is Alder New York – created by some seriously cool people, Alders fashion aspect to beauty shows throughout their line. I mean how cool is the packaging? I am typically very loyal to dry shampoos, but Alder sent over one of their all natural hair powders and I am HOOKED! Not only does it smell amazing, but it makes my hair feel light and clean as if I just washed it. I have super thin hair, so sometimes dry shampoo can weigh it down, the powder easily rubbed in my hair and gave me that just washed look. I am such a sucker for any type of salve, so when the team sent me not only their amazing Lip Balm but their life changing Peppermint Hand and Cuticle cream I was on cloud 9. Using both in the AM and PM will do wonders for your skin.
The second brand who has recently stolen my heart is PLANT – this Brooklyn based all natural beauty company is not only producing some pretty great products, but they are making a serious change in our local communities. PLANT products are made with the help of adults with physical and mental disabilities, at the nonprofit BKLYN UNLTD workshop, in Brooklyn, New York. They strive to give opportunities to those who may not always be given them – which is seriously admirable. Each product you buy from PLANT was not only made with the utmost care, but has contributed positively to the life of someone.
I have been using the PLANT A Face Oil every night before bed, and I wake up in the morning with a bright, glowy complexion. I love how rich the oil is on my skin, it seriously saves me during the dry winter months – plus the Sea Buckthorn makes it smell INCREDIBLE.
As a self proclaimed beauty junkie, it is super rare for me to have not tried something. When PLANT sent over their Rice and Clean gentle face cleanser, I was excited – I have never tried a Rice based cleanser before. Mix with a drop or two of water, or oil depending on what your skin needs and scrub it in your face. I found the small grains really helped exfoliate but was gentle enough to not cause irritation – totally addicted.
Do yourself a favor and check out both of these incredible brand who are helping to make a difference with our skin, our environment and our communities !
